In its effort to boost sustainability, CRO Lira has taken further step through establishing a Bakery - a campaign named  Buy One,Send a child to school. 

The official launch of the bakery took place on Saturday 26th of March,2015 in Lira Town and was attended by Lira District Officials, CRO Management, CRO children, the CRO Lira staff and many local people. The presentation of the new Department of  Bakery in CRO and the organisation itself to the people was celebrated.

Speeches by CROs National Coordinator Christine Kamiti, District Officials and others, a great demonstration of the CRO choir, the official opening of the oven in the CRO compound, an introduction of the CRO bakery products and other activities were part of the program. Joyful and happy many people participated in the activities, such as dancing, face painting, a big lottery, testing of the products and an auction of different food
packages.

The purpose of the Bakery Department is self-funding of the further support of former street children in Primary and Secondary School. Giving children the chance of stable attendance in school and good education is one of the goals of CRO and a big step to raise successful and productive adults for the society. But even with the launch of the bakery as income generating activity, there are lots of possibilities to support CROs funding for cur- rent and former street children in their education or in general
